Derry to Kerry Charity Cycle

Our very own Head of Customer Success at Decision Time, Noel Doyle, has embarked on a charity project, the Derry to Kerry D2K. Noel will cycle 300 miles in 3 days from the Sperrins in Derry to the Kerry Reeks.

The charity cycle aims to raise over £20,000 for BUMBLEance, Ireland’s official Children’s National Ambulance Service.

BUMBLEance is part of the Saoirse Foundation and is a registered non-profit charity dedicated to making positive life impacts for sick children. The charity was founded by Tony and Mary Heffernan in 2010 after their daughter, Saoirse, was diagnosed with Batten Disease (Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses, NCL), a rare and fatal neurological condition.

Speaking on behalf of the D2K team, Noel said, “After hearing the story of BUMBLEance and its inspirational founders, we were determined to raise both funds and awareness for this wonderful charity.”

“We wanted to do something at an inspirational scale for BUMBLEance, so a cycle from Derry to Kerry for our group of novice cyclists is a wonderful cross-border challenge, reflecting the BUMBLEance expansion and connecting towns close to the heart of the charity.”

The actual cycle has had to be postponed to the summer of 2022, because of Covid, but the team hasn’t let this deter them on their quest to raise funds. They all completed a 300 mile ‘virtual’ cycle in Bellaghy village, which raised £8592.

Decision Time is delighted to support Noel and his fellow team members in raising funds for BUMBLEance by sponsoring D2K.
